Our Savior Still Lives

I found a copy of this poem I wrote at 13 years old. It had been typed and printed in a church bulletin dated Easter 1991.


He must have come from heaven above
to die on the cross for me.
He must have had a lot of love
to lay down his life at Calvary.
He must have been the Son of God
to know this was salvation's plan,
to let the men mock him
and drive nails through his hands.
He must have been our loving savior,
our Savior Jesus Christ,
to turn to the thief on the cross
and take him to paradise.
He must have cared a lot for us
to show all the love he gives
by being raised from the dead
to reassure us he always lives.
